will give us an update on the Nevada SPCA, a nonprofit
organization, which operates a no-kill animal sanctuary,
promotes humane education, makes referrals for
lower-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services, and
challenges people to be the best possible guardians for
the companion animals in their care.

September 30: Las Vegas Natural
History Museum - The Las Vegas Natural History Museum is
a private, non-profit institution dedicated to educating
children and families in the natural sciences, both past
and present. Through its interactive exhibits,
educational programs and the preservation of its
collections, the Museum strives to instill an
understanding and appreciation of the world's wildlife,
ecosystems and cultures. Marilyn Gillespie, the
museum's Executive Director, will give the club an
update on what's old, what's new, and what to look
forward

Caldron-Side Chat - To celebrate Halloween, the
Sligar's are offering to host a costume party later in
the month in place of the regular Fireside. Sort
of like the pool parties we've had where swimsuits were
optional, costumes (called "masking" in New Orleans),
though not mandatory, are strongly
encouraged.
