This Week: November 28 Classroom on Wheels with speaker Louise Helton

Next Week: December 5 Environmental Issues with speaker Courtney Brooks

    Last Week's Program

Ana Karas of the Anti-Defamation League gave us a brief history and update on the ADL and how it is working in LV to "stop the hate." For more information about the ADL and its programs click here.

President Cliff presented out mini-grant checks to John Krakauer to distribute to this year's winners. Our mini-grant program awards small grants primarily to teachers to help improve education in their classrooms. For more information about his year's awards click here.

    Old and New Friends
    Empty Chair

There's no fellowship in an empty chair.
Your guests and visiting Rotarians help kindle the flame of fellowship

No guests, but we did have an old friend, Brett Kanwetz, return. Looking forward to seem more of Brett.

Bob Beers has proposed Guy Lynch for membership. If you have any questions, please contact Eric or Jim.

[Editor's Note--We would love to increase our circulation. Send this email to folks who should know about our upcoming programs and to those who might put on a presentation for us. Did you know that you can forward this newsletter to a friend by just clicking the link at the bottom of this page? If you would like to add people to our distribution list, just send me their email addresses to add to our list.]

    President's Message
    Pres Cliff

Holiday Party This year's holiday party is at Cliff and Edmee's house on Friday, December 8th at 8 PM. Spouses are, of course, invited.

Please bring a grab bag gift (of the white elephant under $20 variety) for each of you.

    Rotary Foundation
    Foundation

Bob Novell wants to remind us all of how The Rotary Foundation makes a difference in the lives of those it touches. See the attached for some of the ways our district has used the Foundation to do some remarkable things. Click here.

Foundation Dinner Mike Zoeller (Altadena Rotary) and Sonia Lagormarsino (Pasadena Rotary) are organizing the January 27th Foundation Dinner for the 37 Rotary Clubs of the California East and West Regions of District 5300. The cost is the same as last year at $85 per person. The information about this Foundation dinner is at the District website--click here.

    Rotary Information

    Santa Clothes
It's that time of year again. Santa Clothes is a local project that provides money for clothing for needy kids in our area. Our club has participated in the annual project--for more information contact Paul Wexler.

    Chile Project
Edmee reminds us that we are getting ready to send some funds to Chile to help the local Rotary Club provide educational materials in support of the club's opening membership to women. For more information contact Edmee.

    Vocational Service
December is Vocational Service Month. Did you know that the Four-Way Test came from one businessman's code of business ethics? It has probably be cited as the main reasons many have accepted an invitation to join Rotary. And that's the truth.

    This Week's Service Team

    Greeter: Angela Brooks
    Pledge: Edmee Marcek
    Inspirational: Wenlee Jensen
    Musicologist: Dennis Ortwein
