This Week: October 3 A talk on Dealing With Stress, given by Dr. Paul Green.

The next Rotohackers event will be on October 6th. This will be a morning event (not afternoon as previously announced) at Palm Valley Golf Course in Sun City. Contact Joe for more information. Click here for more information.

Next Week: October 10 NALA Project
NALA will host another breakfast for us and the entire project team in their dining room.

    Last Week's Program

Craft Talks Dennis Filangeri, a Certified Financial Planner, spoke about his work developing web-based educational material for financial professionals and his double life as Alfredo Fettucini, magician extrordinaire.

Diane Cabral was craftily introduced by Michael Flynn. Her work as an interior designer was much overshadowed by her preference for dressing up as Catwoman on Halloween.

    Visiting Rotarians and Guests
    Empty Chair

There's no fellowship in an empty chair.
Your guests and visiting Rotarians help kindle the flame of fellowship

Dr. Chris Comfort visited as a guest of Bob Beers and Judith Filangeri was a guest of Dennis aka Alfredo Fettucini.

    President's Message
    Pres Cliff

We will have our October 10th club meeting at NALA at 7:15 a.m. Come one, come all and see our new project.

Also, our normal October 24th meeting will be replaced by a meeting the previous day, October 23rd, at 6 p.m. at the Main Street Station with the West Club, the Southwest Club and the Las Vegas Club. This change is to accommodate our special guest, District Governor Christine Montan. We need names of all who plan to attend.

A last note: please sell VARA tickets. All proceeds from the tickets go to our club. Visit our online store--click here.

    Service Projects

    NALA Project:

Paul W. reports that our NALA project kicked off with a meeting at the facility. The NALA staff is so excited they barely know how to thank us. As we will not be able to meet at TPC on the 10th due to the Fry’s Invitational Golf Tournament, NALA will host another breakfast for us at 7:15 am in their dining room on October 10th. The project team will have its meeting at 8:30 following the regular meeting.

    Rotarians Abroad:

We received an email from Rick Amadio regarding his return to Myanmar and his involvement in a project with the Eastern Bible Institute in Yangon. See the rest of the text here.

Shameless Plug from Jim--Breast Cancer Walk

The hotel employees, along with Kathy and I are walking in this years Breast Cancer Walk on October 7th, for the fourth year. As you can guess I am looking for donations. Whether it is $5, $10 or whatever amount is fine. Just click here for more information.

    Rotary Information

    PRLS SEMINAR

Potential Rotary Leadership Seminars: District Governor Elect Charlie Barr reminds us that two PRLS (Potential Rotary Leadership Seminars) sessions will be presented by District 5300. Click here for complete article.

    INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION - UTAH:

All of us should have received our Rotarian Magazine with information on the international convention in June of next year. You can make room reservations on line but they are filling up fast. Of the forty + hotels reserved for us, only four still had rooms available on the dates requested by one member. If you are even thinking of going, you should make a reservation ASAP! [Editor's Note: you can often reserve at the desired hotel where the block of rooms reserved for Rotary show no availability by booking on one of the usual Internet sites.]
