    President's Message
    Pres Cliff

Our club meeting for August 29th will be at NALA as previously announced by Paul Wexler. We have nine members attending. I would like to see at least 15 Rotarians attend. If you have not RSVPed to Paul, please do as soon as possible. We want to make the best impression possible to this service organization.

RSVP to Paul Wexler at 324-3385 or paulwexler@cox.ne t.

    Membership
    Members & Guests

Matthew Yarbrough has been proposed for membership. If you have any questions please contact Eric or Jim.
    1st Announcement

Eric knows that the key to membership lies in guests visiting our club. Once they visit, they want to stay. Eric set a goal to have 52 visitors this year. Judging from the picture above, we're off to a good start. All you have to do is invite someone to breakfast.

August was Membership Month. As August fades out, remember that keeping up club's membership is every member's business. A solid membership base helps us achieve our goals. RI has some interesting ideas on gaining -and keeping - new members at this address: http://www.rotary.org/newsroom/features/060 8_rw_membership.html

    Rotary Information

Thanks to the efforts of our own Bobby “G”, the Club will have its regularly scheduled meeting at the National Association of Latin Americans (NALA) pre- school center at 323 North Maryland Parkway. The time is 7:15 AM and breakfast will be served. After breakfast and club announcements, a tour of the facility will be provided.

NALA’s pre-school/childcare center provides a comprehensive array of educational and social services to low income working families and single parents. Their pre-school services are the most affordable within the City of Las Vegas with rates ranging from $55.00 - $75.00 weekly depending on income and family size with approximately 25 children receiving a special rate of $25.00 per week through a grant from United Way. Each class has an experienced and certified teacher as well as a volunteer grandmother and the children are provided with a healthy breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack made on site.

The school has a small playground which is in dire need of some new equipment and safety upgrades and the club will be considering some ways to help. This project is an opportunity to fulfill our community service mission and we would like every member of the club to be involved.

Directions: Take the Summerlin Parkway to the 95 towards Downtown. Take the 515 to Las Vegas Blvd. turn left (north) to East Bonanza. Turn right on East Bonanza to Maryland Parkway. Take Maryland Parkway to 323 N. Maryland Parkway. It is on the left before you get to Stewart. This is the back of the facility. Drive around to the front entrance and park.

    A message from Joe Germain

The following are the planned dates for upcoming Rotohacker events for the balance of the year. We have not yet decided on tee times or locations for any of these events, but your president has indicated he would like to "mix things up." I am anticipating an afternoon tee time on the fifteenth and will get back to all with a planned location and time. I will be requesting RSVP'S after we send out times and location for September 15th. We previously had a request to provide some dates in advance so people could do a little long range planning. Here's your opportunity! Plan to join us!

    1. Friday - September 15th
    2. Friday - October 6th
    3. Friday - November 3rd
